Alliance Medical Services in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been designated a Center of Excellence for Opioid Use Disorder by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. We offer residents of Pittsburgh and surrounding Allegheny County methadone medication-assisted treatment combined with various modes of behavioral and cognitive outpatient counseling to combat opioid or heroin addiction.

Conveniently located near Saw Mill Run Boulevard and the Bon Air subway station, we are easily accessible to clients in the Mt. Oliver and Brookline neighborhoods. By enhancing methadone maintenance with a full complement of substance abuse and life-skills counseling, clients who are abusing opioids, such as OxyContin or heroin, are able to recover on an outpatient basis while still participating in family, work and community life.

While many methadone clinics are unable to treat pregnant women, Alliance Medical Services in Pittsburgh has developed a specialized program to support them during recovery and has a medical doctor on staff.

Our Master’s level therapists create a safe and respectful recovery environment for individuals undergoing methadone maintenance treatment. Patients in our Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP), Outpatient Treatment (OP), and Office-Based Opiate Treatment (OBOT) programs receive individualized treatment plans which include substance use disorder education, individual counseling, group therapy, medication management, anger management, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBP), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBP), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). We also offer complementary therapies including art therapy and mindfulness.

In order to offer methadone treatment to the widest segment of Pittsburgh residents, we offer in-network and out-of-network private insurance plans as well as Medicaid, Medicare and Veteran’s Administration Community Care Network.
