Note: These lists are specific to our Residential-Inpatient treatment programs. For detailed lists for other levels of care – Detox, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, General Outpatient, or Office-Based Opioid Treatment – please contact the staff at your location.

  • Clothing (Pack for 1 Week)

    • Comfortable, season-appropriate clothing (pajamas, sweatpants, jeans, comfy shoes, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jacket)
    • Swimsuits (for summer, depending on location)
    • Socks, belts, and undergarments
    • On-site laundry available at certain locations (detergent provided)
  • Toiletries & Personal Care

    • Non-aerosol toiletries, including washcloth and body wash
    • Tampons (location-specific based on septic system)
    • Must not contain alcohol in the first three ingredients (does not have to be new/unopened)
    • Any current medications in original prescription bottles
    • Non-prescription medications (e.g., vitamins) in unopened packages
    • Reading material (notebook and pen, recovery-related reading material, spiritual reading material, coloring book/crosswords)
  • Other Personal Items

    • Photo ID (preferred but not required)
    • Insurance Card
    • Valid credit card (for payment plans, prescriptions, etc.)
    • Prescription Card (if applicable)
    • Money order of $250 recommended, prepaid Visa, or valid credit card for prescription co-pays (our pharmacies do not accept American Express)
  • Optional Items

    • Up to 2 cartons of unopened packs of cigarettes
    • Unopened cans of chewing tobacco
    • Recovery-related reading material
    • Spiritual reading material
    • Legal documents
    • Stationery/stamps
  • Please Leave These at Home

    • Clothing
      • Items with inappropriate logos, slogans, or images (e.g., alcohol brand insignia, marijuana leaves, hate speech)
      • Pants with holes above mid-thigh
      • Immodest attire (spaghetti straps, strapless tops, “muscle shirts,” low-cut tops, spandex/tight fitting tights)
    • Jewelry or high-value items
    • Toiletries
      • Cologne, mouthwash, laundry detergent, nail polish, aerosol cans/products, hair dye, cleaning products
      • Aerosol cans/products including hairspray, spray deodorant, etc.
      • Hair dye or chemical treatments
    • Illicit Materials
      • Drugs, alcohol, weapons, pocket knives, bottle openers
      • Sharp objects including nail trimmers, scissors, files
      • Pornographic or sexually explicit objects/materials, sexual toys/accessories
    • Food, drinks, gum, candy
    • Electronics
      • Cameras, laptops, tablets, headphones, smartwatches, video games, cell phones, flash drives
      • Cell phones (if brought, will be held in our lockers)
    • Certain Nicotine Products
      • Electronic cigarettes/vapes, cigars, powdered nicotine, lighters
      • Nicotine lozenges/gum (smoking cessation products must be prescribed and given to the Medical Team)
    • Household items
      • Candles, incense, wax warmers, fans, sporting equipment
      • Cleaning products (laundry soap for medical reasons is allowed, medical must approve in writing and it must be unopened)
    • Cash, debit, or credit cards (small amounts of cash can be placed on a Patient Balance Sheet – patients do not keep this in their possession)
    • Linens (we provide bedding, pillows, towels – do not bring your own)

    Any questionable items will be reviewed at admission, and a decision will be made by the Executive Director, Clinical Director, or Residential Manager.

  • Special Note

    • We provide laundry services on-site, but we recommend limiting clothing to one week’s worth
    • Bring only one piece of luggage
    • No need to bring linens, blankets, pillows, or other bedding items
