We Work With YouYour Treatment, Your Recovery, Your Schedule

The Intensive Outpatient level of care is one step down from Partial Hospitalization. It’s designed for people who need intense, focused treatment but not quite the five hours a day required at the PHP level or meet the full-time requirements of a residential program. At the intensive outpatient level of care, you attend for a shorter day of evidence-based treatment – with all the same components as residential and partial hospitalization – but because of the shorter time spent on-site, you can still work, go to school full-time, and fulfill family or other commitments. This level of care is perfect for patients who want an intensive treatment experience yet have responsibilities outside of treatment that need their daily attention.

Personalized Recovery Plan

Our experienced staff creates a custom treatment program designed to meet your unique needs. We find out who you are and what makes you tick, then craft a therapeutic solution that gives you the greatest chance of successful, long-term healing and recovery. Your treatment changes as you change: we monitor progress and adjust your program as you learn and grow. We nurture your strengths, help you rediscover your inner spirit, and lead you back to the real you in a caring environment defined by the highest possible level of compassion and professionalism.

Life After Intensive Outpatient Treatment

The length of your Intensive Outpatient treatment program depends on three things: your specific needs as determined by your initial biopsychosocial evaluation, the input of your primary therapist and clinical staff, and the progress you make in your recovery. During the more intensive levels of care, such as Residential – Inpatient and Partial Hospitalization, we learn a lot about you. All the clinical and personal knowledge we develop informs our recommendation for your transition between the levels of care.

When you meet the mutually agreed upon goals created for your individualized treatment plan, we meet with you, your clinical team, and any other relevant participants in your treatment journey can create a plan for what happens next.  With your unique situation in mind, we offer what we see as your best options. In most cases, these options include either a step-down to our General Outpatient Program (GOP) or return to your daily life and continue recovery with the assistance and support of our alumni programs and extensive, nationwide community support network.

Your Path to Long-Term Recovery

We encourage all our patients – when practical and possible – to step down through the levels of care without rushing. For some patients the most challenging part of the recovery journey comes when they have more time during the week to themselves. Stepping down to Intensive Outpatient treatment helps ease the transition and gives you the support you need to maintain your recovery. You get to put your new recovery skills to the test at home and out in the real world, then come back to treatment and talk about what works and what doesn’t. Your recovery peers and therapists help you apply your new knowledge where it counts the most: in the new life you’re creating for yourself at Pinnacle Treatment.
