Types of Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Rather than fight negative emotions, we show you how to process them, so you can channel your energy into positive action.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

A form of talk therapy that helps you evaluate your behavior and relationships, as well as the events that shaped them.

Relapse Prevention

A cognitive-behavioral therapy that teaches you how to recognize situations and mental states that might cause you to turn back to opioids.

Medication Management

Because the effects of medications vary from patient to patient, we monitor reactions to ensure your dosage and schedule are correct.

Family Dynamics

Addiction takes a toll on family members as well as patients, which is why our counselors invite your loved ones to participate in therapy.

Stages of Change

Substance abuse happens in cycles. Understanding the feelings and behaviors associated with each step in the process helps you break free of old habits.

Trauma-Informed Care

Examines the way traumatic events have impacted your wellbeing and contributed to your addiction.

Anger Management

Unresolved anger can damage relationships and mental health, heightening the risk of substance abuse. We show you how to confront anger and respond constructively.

Grief/Loss Therapy

People often fall into opioid addiction to escape feelings of loss and pain. Dealing with untreated grief reduces the chance of resuming unhealthy behavior.

Life Skills

Helps you re-learn how to communicate and manage your emotions, which may have been neglected during your addiction.

Motivational Interviewing

A practical, empathetic, and short-term process that helps you identify, examine, and resolve conflicting thoughts and feelings.

Motivational Enhancement Therapy

Together with your therapist, you identify goals and focus on nurturing positive behaviors that will help you achieve them.

Nutritional Counseling

Advises you on how to create a balanced diet, rich in vitamins and minerals, that fortifies your mind and body.

What to Expect

This place is fantastic! The RAs are great and I really like that many RAs, doctors and therapists are all recovering addicted for many years. Which really makes a difference to feeling understood. The best part is all the AA and NA meetings we do every day because when I got out I felt so at home at new outside meetings. I knew the opening reading and how to close out the meetings. We would go to church, outside meetings, bible studies and fun outtings on fridays if you work out all week. There were plenty of smoke breaks, a volleyball net, a basketball hoop, a ping pong table, books, games, tons of art supplies, a small garden and many people would sunbathe. There’s Netflix and movies for free time, the rooms are clean and the food is great! There’s a little salad bar too! Everyone loves the food plus the mini fridge is always full, and you can have snacks or fruit and sandwiches all day and night. Virginia brings her little Yorkie in and she’s adorable. You get visitations on weekends and can make phone calls Sunday’s and Thursday! The nurses are great and help get you on a routine for taking your meds. I admit I miss it and kinda want to go back (sober lol)!! The best place to recover and have support! Also it’s not like it was in the beginning of 2018. Then there was limited smoke breaks and like no sugar and way more strict but it’s definately not like that! My best friend would smoke a pack and a half a day there seriously lol and Monday’s the executives are there for a meeting with everyone so you can praise or raise concerns! Great way to feel heard

My name is Andrew, I'm a formal patient, client, at recovery works I like to share with everyone my experience there. I was at my last hope of recovery, my next option was suicide. I went to recovery works, desperate, confused, lost in my own soul. And with that being said, I was open for the hope day provided. And with an open mind, willing to take suggestions f,rom others, I was not only willing to take their opinions, but I further my need to stop taking drugs for my feelings of failure, but I want to PHP program to learn more about myself. I suggested to anyone, wanting to stop, sitting in your pain and despair, give Recovery Works a chance!

Recovery Works was a GREAT place- you really bond with staff and other residents. There are incentives like work outs and attending all groups to be able to leave the facility for outings, there is exposure to outside meetings, always someone there to help and listen, and the food is unbelievable with many options and a salad bar. I️ had A great experience and would highly recommend it!!

I spend 60 days at the recovery works program in Columbus and it was an amazing experience. I was broken beaten down and destroyed to my core when I walked through their doors but with time and a lot of help and effort they helped me transform myself into a better person. I would 100% recommend this program to my friends and family. The staff is wonderful and always there to help you no matter what the task. They helped me grow into a person I can be proud of and for that I am forever greatful. If your looking for a crew that goes above and beyond for you this is the one!

Best rehabiltion facility, hands down. I’ve been here a couple of times now, along with other places, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else nor would I recommend another inpatient facility. The staff is top notch - from the nurses, to the therapists, and the directors. They work directly with each patient to make sure your needs are met and develop a personal relationship with you. The “higher ups” (directors and cordinators) hold a weekly meeting with patients to get feed back on how everything is going which is awesome. I love this place, I love the people and I know they truly care about me. They go above and beyond here. The food is Smackin’ as well... I love the recovery works team. ❤️ If I ever end up back in inpatient, this is where I will be. Y’all keep it up. -Faith

Recovery works residential and PHP saved my life! I entered recovery works lost and with out hope. I couldn’t look myself in the mirror and I was barely living life. I was depressed and life was dark. My addiction was out of control. I did detox, residential and the PHP program. Today I can proudly say I’m more confident , I have hope, and I’m excited to live life again, sober!!! The staff really cares about you and the classes are informative and deep. I learned about my triggers, my tramas and my addiction. Miss Sam and Tisha (in PHP) are angels!!!! They work with passion and purpose, they really do care about the clients and are always there when you need them! I will always recommend recovery works!

This place saved my life! I had been to 2 other inpatient facilities in the past, (both were 90 day programs) and I learned more in the 30 days I spent here than I did anywhere else! As long as you are willing to put the work in, you won't have any problems with the staff. I bet that most of these negative reviews are from people who didn't want to follow the rules, because this facility is so easy going. The staff truly cares about the clients, and they go above and beyond to make your stay a comfortable one. I was here on the 4th of July, and they had a cookout for us with games, music, and a bonfire with s'mores. They didn't have to do anything like that, but they did! I am clean and sober today thanks to this place, and I HIGHLY recommend it to any addict who is still out there sick and suffering.

Great place to go I did the 28 days there and then the php housing also went to sober living house after. I am still to this day clean and sober. Only issue I have ever had from this place was after I got back home I've tried to get medical records for a shot I got while leaving there and it's been really hard to get those documents but I'm working on it still. My date that I got sober is June 30th 2021 and from my own hard work and Recovery Works help it's been possible to remain drug and alcohol free and have a better life. Thank you and I hope one day you will have me come share my story there with others

I've been there twice and I loved it, It felt like home. I learned more about addiction and was given the tools to control myself in situations that come before us all in everyday life. The nurses and staff were great teachers actually and they helped save my life. I was truly a wreck when I got there. Another day on the streets would have been my death Recovery works sent someone to pick me up and took me to their facility and got me on track. Thank God for all of you at Recovery Works and second chance at life.
