Summit Treatment Services in Pittsburgh is designated by the PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs as an outpatient methadone maintenance treatment center. Our mission is to help the men and women of Pittsburgh recover from addiction to fentanyl, heroin and prescription painkillers. We use medications, such as methadone and Suboxone, combined with outpatient drug rehab sessions to help clients avoid relapse and maintain sobriety.

Located by the Allegheny River just off the 31st St Bridge and across from Troy Hill and Herrs Island, our private drug rehab facility is easily accessible to clients from Polish Hill, Lower Lawrenceville, the Strip District and other Pittsburgh neighborhoods.

We believe that medication-assisted treatment with suboxone or methadone offers the best chance to fully recover from addiction to heroin and other opioids. Potential clients first undergo an intake process to determine if Summit Treatment Services Pittsburgh is the right fit for them; patients interested in treatment with Suboxone may even qualify for our telehealth intake program. As part of the evaluation process, a course of treatment involving individual, group or family therapy may also be recommended. Further, our on-staff medical doctor helps ensure that our outpatient drug rehab program is safe for pregnant women.

Regular and reliable dispensing is the foundation of our clinic, which is tucked in among industrial and commercial buildings with is ample parking and access to the 86 and 87 bus lines at Liberty Ave and 32nd St in Pittsburgh. For the convenience of clients with jobs and families, methadone doses are available starting as early as 5am weekdays and 6am on Saturdays. Buprenorphine is available Monday and Wednesday starting at 1pm.

Once a client has found relief from withdrawal and detox symptoms with medication, they may begin to attend therapy sessions run by our drug and alcohol counselors. Our Master’s level therapists strive to offer a variety of programs tailored to our client base and are able to offer some gender-specific groups. Current offerings include DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), anger management and relapse prevention. Adjunct therapies such as life skills, meditation and art therapy may also be available.
