Because these products may be substantially more potent than traditional kratom, some individuals find themselves experiencing tolerance, cravings, and withdrawal much sooner than expected. It is why individuals struggling with kratom usage may meet criteria for opioid use disorder depending on their history and pattern of use. This may include patients using 7-OH or patients using kratom who also have a history of opioid use disorder. These patients may qualify for treatment through one of our OTPs after an appropriate evaluation.
