I suffered from a prescription drug addition to pain pills due to chronic pain from Lupus and Sciatica, along with a long list of other back injuries and problems. I decided to seek help and reached out to Aegis on West Columbus in Bakersfield. I have been in treatment for a little over a year and have managed to stay off opiates with the help of methadone. I accredit my success to the counseling that is required as part of your treatment program. My first counselor left Aegis and moved on to advance her career, and I never thought she could be replaced, but I was wrong. I immediately was very impressed by her replacement. Aegis employs a great bunch of people to help you on your journey back to reality and soberiety. The program could use some fine tuning to the upper management staff, but other than that, I truly believe in this program and think it’s a great way to reduce opiate deaths. If I have a complaint I wish there was another location closer to my home in Rosedale.
