My name is “Bella,” and I have been on the journey of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with Pinnacle Treatment Centers since 2014. From the very beginning, Pinnacle has been the foundation of my recovery and MAT has saved my life in ways I will forever be grateful for.

I began my treatment at Stateline Medical in Warren County, New Jersey, where I quickly learned that Pinnacle was more than just a treatment center, it was a support system. My counselor, Marcel, played a huge role in my journey. She helped me stay strong during some of my most difficult moments and encouraged me to pursue becoming a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS), so I could one day help others the way Pinnacle helped me.

I first entered treatment while participating in drug court, which I successfully completed over five years. During that time, I faced many life challenges: becoming a mother, navigating unhealthy relationships, and ultimately raising my son on my own. Through every high and low, Pinnacle remained a constant source of support, guidance, and stability in my life.

When Marcel passed away, it was a devastating loss. But even at that moment, Pinnacle continued to support me and helped me stay on track. In 2023, I welcomed my daughter, an unexpected but beautiful blessing who gave me renewed purpose. Once again, I found myself navigating life as a single mother, but I wasn’t alone. When I moved to Ocean County, Pinnacle made that transition seamless by continuing my care at Ocean Monmouth Care.

Today, I am in a stable place in my recovery, thanks to the continued support I receive through Pinnacle. With monthly take-home medication and the guidance of my counselor, Jenna, I have built a strong foundation for my future. She is always there to support me, encourage me, and remind me how far I’ve come.

Over the past 12+ years, Pinnacle has provided me with the tools to rebuild my life, from therapy and group support in the early stages to ongoing care as I face new challenges today. Even now, as my children and I face uncertainty with housing, I know I am not facing it alone. Pinnacle continues to be a source of strength, helping me stay grounded, focused, and hopeful.

Recovery, for me, has become about more than just staying well, it’s about giving back. Pinnacle helped me find my purpose, and I now strive to support others while continuing to prioritize my own healing. As a single mom without child support, life isn’t always easy, but with the support I receive, especially from the team at Ocean Monmouth Care, I know we will find a way forward.

I still have a long road ahead, but today I walk it with strength, pride, and determination. Pinnacle has shown me that recovery is possible, and with the right support, I will continue to grow, give back, and create a better life for myself and my children.

I am especially grateful to the team at Ocean Monmouth Care who continue to support me every step of the way. Whether I’m there for an appointment or dropping off items for others, I’ve learned that through Pinnacle, recovery is not something you do alone, it’s something you do together.
