Evidence-Based Approach

Our Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) is an outpatient program designed for those living with opioid use disorder (OUD). Our OBOT programs provide effective, evidence-based care modeled after the gold-standard therapeutic approach by SAMHSA, ASAM, and WHO.

OBOT programs were created to offer medically-assisted treatment outside of federally regulated methadone clinics. Recent regulations now allow nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) to prescribe these medications, expanding access and making it easier to obtain essential treatment.

The Medication: Suboxone®

We primarily use Suboxone®, a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone, which helps reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms without the high associated with addictive drugs. Unlike methadone, Suboxone® can be prescribed in a doctor’s office.
