So I did review summit under my other profile.....I transferred to Summit from Tadiso after my counselor left. It's a methadone clinic. You get what you put into it. Ms Angel, the lady who gets you in , is so nice as are the dosing nurses, Ms MJ, the lady at the front window, is also nice. I have not encountered anyone who was mean or nasty or unhelpful here. They sincerely want to see everyone succeed. Don't fight your counselor, they are there to help and if you don't mesh well then ask for a new counselor. I have found that in the 3 1/2 years that I have been enrolled in the clinic, most people who do the most complaining are the ones who consistently break rules and get into trouble. What's more important? Your recovery or the few miserable people who try to drag you down?
Then you have the ,"methadone only keeps you stuck", people. Well so does heroin and pills....the difference is, you probably WONT DIE from methadone. I have a friend who successfully graduates pit of the clinic, got married and pregnant, and she is doing well.
The point is, methadone can help. It's what you make of it. GOD plus methadone saved my life.....got a job and my kids back in my life. Could not have done that on dope.
