My stays at Recovery Works have been as good an experience possible in a detox facility. As you may know the detoxification process is not fun, but multiple staff members, especially Tess, made my stay as comfortable as possible! Of all the times I've been through the program I have never left AMA and a big part of that is due to the staff. I want to give Tess credit because she made me feel at home; her relateability, sympathy and use of humor have contributed to the fact I'm still clean 4 months later! I can't believe I was laughing and having a good time in detox because of her. I could actually relate to the techs there, and during my most recent 8 day stay in February, Jen (nurse) was amazing as well. I owe my life and sobriety to this place and the staff! I can't say enough good things. I don't miss the food but I've called and tried to let the staff know how grateful I truly am for their kindness, compassion and understanding they have of the disease I suffer from. We had community cigarettes and got to go outside 4x a day to smoke, a smart TV in each room, (With YouTube!!!) and groups everyday as well as 1-on-1 sessions with our counselor and case manager. I was able to watch movies in bed, as well as the game room and play ping-pong when I felt up to it. The med line moves a bit slow at night but the nurses are truly doing their best. I appreciated the NP Vince working with me and helping motivate me to stay clean. I wouldn't be working a program today without their help! Thanks so much! You guys saved my life! Definitely recommend detoxing here!
