    State College Medical is a methadone clinic in Ferguson Township, State College, PA offering medication-assisted treatment for drug addiction. We are licensed by the PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs and are a member of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. Because we have a medical doctor on staff, we are able to treat pregnant women who are addicted to opioids.

    State College in Centre County is a college town, and we are proud to serve Penn State and surrounding communities in the Centre Region. Addiction to fentanyl, heroin, and other opioid-based painkillers is on the rise all across the US and no segment of society has been spared; the epidemic has hit college students especially hard.

    Our business-park office is conveniently located in a bustling commercial area off of PA Route 26, but secluded enough to offer privacy and anonymity. We provide ample parking and, for those who do not drive, a bus stop is located nearby at Enterprise Dr and Cato Ave.

    Medication-assisted treatment takes a hybrid approach to help people recover from opioid addiction. Clients first experience relief from active addiction by taking medications such as methadone or Suboxone – these substances replace opioids so that the client does not experience debilitating withdrawal or detox symptoms. In order to accommodate the hectic academic and job schedules that our clients often juggle, we offer early-morning dosing on weekdays from 5:45 am and Saturdays from 6:15 am. In addition, those interested in buprenorphine addiction treatment can attend one of our telehealth intake sessions rather than traveling to our office.

    Once clients have been stabilized on methadone or Suboxone, they are better able to focus on counseling sessions led by our Master’s level therapists. Each client will undergo an extensive evaluation to determine which individual, group or family drug treatment sessions will benefit them the most. Our drug and alcohol counselors provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, stages of change and grief/loss therapy. In some instances, we are able to offer remote telehealth counseling sessions.
