Mount Pocono Medical, in Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania, is a medication-assisted drug treatment clinic utilizing methadone and buprenorphine (Suboxone) to help clients recover from opioid and prescription drug addiction. We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) and, because we have a medical doctor on staff, we are able to safely treat pregnant women.

Nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, Mt. Pocono has long been host to travelers and tourists and the surrounding resorts, campgrounds and water parks attract visitors to this area of beautiful northeastern Pennsylvania. This bucolic setting helps foster a true healing environment for those in recovery.

Although potential buprenorphine clients benefit from our unique tele-health intake sessions, our large parking area and convenient location on Pocono Blvd, near I-380, make it easy for all outpatient rehab clients to obtain doses of methadone, buprenorphine and Vivitrol and attend counseling sessions without having to sacrifice family or work time. Clients appreciate our 5:30am dosing start time and, with a bus stop right outside our door, those that do not drive are still able to reach our facility via the Silver or Blue bus lines of the Monroe County Transit Authority’s “Pocono Pony”, that run through Mt. Pocono and the surrounding Monroe County area.

Treating heroin and Oxycontin addiction using medications such as methadone and Suboxone has been found to be an effective way to help clients maintain sobriety.  While we still utilize traditional methods of opioid addiction treatment, such as group therapy, family therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), first finding relief from painful withdrawal symptoms and cravings helps patients more meaningfully participate in their sessions. Our Masters and Doctoral-Level therapists and drug and alcohol counselors provide grief/loss therapy, art therapy, relapse prevention and life skills training to enhance the lives of our clients.

In order to treat clients from all socio-economic groups in Mt. Pocono, our methadone clinic takes both public and private Pennsylvania health insurance including Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Community Care Behavioral Health (CCBH).
