At this level of care, patients receive a full day of therapy, counseling, and activities that promote healing and recovery. Evenings are filled with community support groups, time for recovery assignments, and opportunities for personal growth and reflection. If you need a structured environment with 24-hour support and monitoring, the inpatient – residential level of care may be your best option. Life After Residential Treatment

The length of your inpatient – residential treatment program depends on three things: your specific needs as determined by your initial biopsychosocial evaluation, the input of your primary therapist and clinical staff, and the progress you make in your recovery. When you meet the mutually agreed upon goals created for your individualized treatment plan, you have options: you can step-down to a less rigorous level of care such as Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, or General Outpatient, or you can return to your daily life and continue recovery with the assistance and support of our alumni programs and extensive, nationwide community support network.

Your Path to Long-Term Recovery

We encourage all our patients – when practical and possible – to step down through the levels of care without rushing. For some patients, residential treatment is the easiest part of their recovery journey, and the transition back to home life is the tricky part. Stepping down from an Inpatient program to a Partial Hospitalization or an Intensive Outpatient program helps ease the transition and gives you the support you need to stay sober and on track. You get to put your new recovery skills to the test out it in the real world, then come back to treatment and talk about what works and what doesn’t. Your recovery peers and therapists help you apply your new knowledge where it counts the most: in the new life you’re creating for yourself at Pinnacle Treatment.
